With my family from Utah visiting my son Jason, my son-in-law Chase, and I decided to get away for some quick canyoning. With Goldie Cr in our back yard it was the obvious choice. Water level was quite low and manageable with the 1st rappel (or 2nd if not downclimbing) being the best. Beautiful scenery.
We ended up with 6 rappels and many downclimbs and an overall pleasant experience. While traversing the slopes my son who was in front stirred up some bees which earned Chase and I some bee stings. They hurt! Never had a bee sting before let alone two.
The hike out was by a private road and did have an older gentleman give us an earful so maybe next time we'll hike back up and out the way we came in.
